Opening on my Second Internship Report : SUmmer 2014

Internship Report - Summer 2013

Feedback on my Internship Report

First year as an engineer student :

Second year as an engineer student :

I worked on an exciting project: the third generation biofuel.
The research will lead to the commercialization of fuel based on microalgae. I am convinced that this will be the fuel of the future.

During my internship in second year as a student engineer at Grenoble INP-Pagora, I had the opportunity to join the CEA of Cadarache as an assistant engineer. My mission was to write protocols of the Biomasse laboratory machines in the City of Energies. This laboratory aims to develop demonstrators to improve technologic steps for 3rd generation biofuel (based on microalgae). It took a lot of perseverance, patience and brevity to achieve my goals. In addition to a gain in conciseness and technical documents understanding, I touched my future engineer profession. Indeed, I have met many people inhabited by the same passion: their job. I am very interested in Biomass 3G project and hope that I have brought my stone to the edifice. I will remember these new skills, these discoveries and encounters that have made this internship a very uplifting and exciting internship.

Summury Internship Report - Summer 2014

Third and last but not least year as an engineer student :

I discovered the research world, working on another exciting project which melt biomaterials expertisemicrobiology and food packaging.

Main objectives of this project called NewGenPak :

  • To advance the state-of-the-art in wood cellulose based sustainable packaging;

  • To create an integrated, long-term sustainable packaging research and trainingbase.

The part on which I worked was never done before : it was the first time this kind of experiments were done.

Abstract Final Year Internship - February 2015 - july 2015

In the present world scenario, the petroleum based products became a huge concern for the food packaging industry with regard to its reduced biodegradability and recyclability, rising costs and health issues with consumers. Therefore, in last decade, the attention have been shifted to polymers originating from agricultural sources, such as cellulose, as they are natural, abundant, biodegradable, renewable, recyclable as well as cost effective polymers. Hence, within the framework of this project Newgenpak (new generation packaging), our main objective is to develop antimicrobial packaging system for food packaging utilizing natural antimicrobial molecule (Nisin and Carvacrol) and Tempo oxidized Nanocellulose. This is the first investigation evolved for the direct functionalization of Tempo MFC with cyclodextrin without any spacer in aqueous solution. After the successful grafting on the surface of TEMPO MFC, antimicrobial/bioactive agents were encapsulated into the cyclodextrin hydrophobic pocket. This work is divided into parts, in the first part, MFC films were grafted with cyclodextrin to entrap essential oil (Carvacol) and in the second part, boxes were coated with the grafted MFC and entrapped with antimicrobial peptide Nisin for the development of food packaging. Successful functionalization was validated by conductometric titration and FTIR. Grafting of cyclodextrin provided aid in the controlled release of the Carvacol. Antimicrobial activity of Carvacol was greatly enhances from 3 hours with Tempo MFC to around 50 hours with the cyclodextrin grafted Tempo MFC. The promising results obtained during the 5 months of experiments and research and analyses in the laboratory LGP2, open the way to a new bio-packaging with remarkable antibacterial activity.

I am not an engineer student anymore

I am an FIBER and BIOMATERIAL engineer

The beginning of an enriching experience...

september 2015 - july 2016

After my degree, I wanted to open the way of the possibilities, which are given to me as an engineer.

I knew a little bit about the Comagnies Adminintration Institute (Institut d'Administration des Entreprises : IAE) and I though it could be the opportunity I was looking for. I choose the innovative management master 2, because all areas I am interessting in for the futur are more or less linked to innovation, not as far afield as a demonstrator scale.

I didn't want to continue "just" one more year as a student, I wanted to touch a potentiel futur job. It is why I choose the school and work experience alternating.

I joined the CEA of Grenoble, especially the Leti in september 2015 as a technology, social, strategic and commercial watcher.
